Workshop description

Mushrooms belong to a separate and unique kingdom – fungi. When processed carefully, their vegetative part, the mycelium, is able to produce different enzymes which have the unique potential to provide food with extra nutritional value that cannot be obtained from any other food sources.

This presentation will:

  • provide an overview of the emerging science on mushroom nutrition (mycology) from a TCM perspective
  • describe the potential benefits that mycology can have on the brain
  • introduce how mycology can help our patients
  • teach how to integrate mushroom nutrition into our work
  • provide treatment principles to boost our therapeutic outcomes

Speaker biography

About Zuzana Vančuříková

Zuzana Vančuříková MD is a Czech medical doctor with postgraduate specialisation in paediatrics, which remains the focus of her practice. She has had her own practice since 1996, including TCM, acupuncture, EAV and homeopathy. She is a member of the Czech medical acupuncture society (CLAS CLS JEP). Nowadays she is also considered one of her country’s most renowned lecturers in both TCM herbs and acupuncture, and likes to combine mushroom nutrition and acupuncture.

About Karel Šimonovský

Karel is a Czech TCM practitioner specialising in both translating and co-authoring teaching materials, particularly on phytotherapy and mushroom nutrition since 1996. He is one of his country’s leading practitioners In the field of mushroom nutrition, as practitioner, lecturer and author.
