Workshop title

When sex hurts: the channels for treatment of vulvodynia with acupuncture

Workshop times

Sunday

Workshop description

Vulvodynia is chronic pain in the vulva with no identifiable cause and is estimated to occur in up to 16 per cent of all women. Vulvar tissue, pelvic floor muscles, and sexual confidence are all affected, and currently there is no single treatment appropriate for all women. In this talk, we will learn how to integrate acupuncture therapy and its associated modalities with conventional treatments to effectively address the physical and emotional features of vulvodynia. Using acupuncture channels, we will learn methods to direct treatment to help reduce pain, soften muscles, and improve sexual confidence.
