You are saving Lives every day - Acupuncture for Arrhythmias & Classical Channel Theory - Practical applications of ancient concepts in the Modern Era

Workshop times

Sunday 1130 - 1600

Workshop description

Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long standing history as an efficient treatment for heart disorders, with historical records documenting the use of TCM for cardiovascular disorders dating back to 100-300 BCE. In China today, treatment of cardiovascular disorders is often integrative, involving high level Western diagnostics and medication, in conjunction with acupuncture or Chinese herbal formulae. This approach is highly applicable in the private setting as well. In this short presentation, I will demonstrate simple and effective Western tools for verifying the success of your treatments on the spot. We will explore the effect of acupuncture on heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV) and cardiac arrhythmias. We will cover effective acupuncture protocols for common, non-life-threatening arrhythmias you may encounter in the clinic. In addition, we will also explore recent research in this field.

Channel theory is fundamental to deep understanding of Chinese Medicine. As a pillar concept, together with Yin Yang and the 5 element theories, Channel theory portrays the web of relations between the outer universe and nature to the inner workings and environment of the human body. In this presentation, we will cover and discuss classical concepts as well as practical hands-on applications of channel theory in areas varying from cardiology to orthopedics and pain management.
