Robin Hood Marathon Sunday 27 September 2015
Nottingham will host a marathon on Sunday 27 September. Here is some advice about how to best avoid delays and diversions whilst on your way to the conference. The advice from the University is for the delegates arrive on campus via the west entrance or North entrance, and exit only from the North Entrance. There will be significant road closures around the University but there will be local diversions in place. Try to arrive at the conference centre by 8.15 – roads will close around the venue by 8.30 and it will take longer to get in. I have attached a map (at bottom of this page) with the entrances marked for your information. There is a helpline you have any concerns or any questions – 0845 1641775. Alternatively please check the change log: http://www.robinhoodhalfmarathon.co.uk/race-info/travel-information.htm
I hope that the above information is helpful and look forward to seeing you at the conference this weekend
Welcome to this year’s conference
Whilst compiling this programme, we were struck by the myriad styles of treatment and philosophical perspectives that our extraordinary system of medicine encompasses. The British Conference of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine 2015 will reflect, embrace and celebrate this, our infinite variety.
We are delighted that some of the world’s most renowned speakers have agreed to share their knowledge, and we are equally pleased to offer a platform for more emerging voices. There will be lectures with a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) focus, workshops from a five element perspective, stems and branches, qigong and meditation sessions, practical demonstrations, discussion forums and much more. We hope that you find the programme as exciting as we do!
Our conference this year also marks 20 years of the British Acupuncture Council. We have planned a groovy Saturday night party as well as other fun social events over the weekend to celebrate. We’d love you to get involved - if you have a hidden talent, please get in touch and we’ll find you the right place to showcase it. Be brave and drop us a line …
We’ve moved to different city and a new venue, Nottingham’s beautiful and widely accessible Orchard Hotel. Nevertheless, for the fifth year running entrance fees remain unchanged and still offer excellent value for money. We hope that more of you than ever will join us at what promises to be a stimulating event full of learning, friendship, and happiness.
Even if you’re not sure that you can make the conference itself, please note that all BAcC members are invited to the Friday night lecture, AGM and drinks reception free of charge and regardless of whether you choose stay on.
We look forward to welcoming you in September for a weekend of learning, inspiration, and fun.
Infinite variety - vive la difference!
